Many of our members come to the gym to lose weight, tone up and be fit. When you join we have a chat and take a deep dive into your goals- we talk about what fitness means to you and your life. When we strip back the layers of these goals most people are aiming for the same thing. This key area is that they want to get fit for life and for their family.

This means being able to do whatever life throws at you. Most people aren’t trying to complete extreme challenges or win fitness competitions, you simply want to be able to enjoy life to the fullest. Nobody wants to be held back in their day to day life because they are unfit.

Common fitness goals

It could simply mean being able to have a long walk carrying a child’s bike after they refused to ride it after the first mile! Or lifting the large wardrobe up the stairs. Perhaps just having enough energy to keep up and play with your children, this is something that we commonly hear and discuss with new members at the gym.

For many people being fit for life means being able to age as well as possible. We have plenty of 40 and 50 year olds who are lifting more weights and running quicker than inactive 20-year-olds! There is no better time to start than now. Your future self will wish you had started 10 years ago! Imagine the compounded benefits of starting now, when you are 10 years older.
