Our Coaches

Gray

Founder

Gray has been a Shropshire lad all his life. He moved away briefly to complete his degree but returned home to become a wholetime firefighter. He opened CrossFit Shropshire in 2007 and has been coaching and helping people to live better through fitness since then. He first found CrossFit googling fitness programmes as a competitive ultra runner he though it looked easy.

He was humbled how even though he could run 50 miles this workout took most people 20 minutes he did it in double the time.

Gray was hooked and soon got his Level one certification in the USA and then went on to work as a Subject Matter Expert for CrossFit Endurance, helping teach running as a skill for their CrossFit Seminars.

Gray’s passion is CrossFit Shropshire, which is a place where we help make people fit and happy.

Alex Mansell

Gym Manager and Head Coach

Alex is our Gym Manager and Head Coach. Alex also coaches a lot of CrossFit Classes, Alex is teaching Pilates and Yoga classes as well. He has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years teaching a wide variety of classes and personal training. Alex is qualified in sports massage, lower back pain, diabetes, obesity and nutrition.

Alex enjoys football, and supports West Ham, travelling, socialising and cooking.
