At CrossFit Shropshire, we don’t just plan workouts, we plan great years.
For 2026, we’ve built a clear annual plan so you always know what’s coming, what you can train for, and how we’ll support you to stay fit, healthy, and happy all year long.
This plan gives us structure and gives you momentum.
Here’s what 2026 looks like 👇
April: We Become a HYROX Gym
April is a big moment for CrossFit Shropshire.
From this point in the year, we officially going to add HYROX, not just as an event, but as a training focus that anyone can get involved in. We will be adding HYROX classes, sims and training to our schedule!
Being a HYROX gym doesn’t mean you have to race.
It means we train in a way that makes you:
- Fitter for real life
- Strong under fatigue
- Confident moving for longer
- Mentally tougher than you think
HYROX-style training sits right in the sweet spot between strength, engine, and grit and it’s accessible to far more people than you might expect.
What Being a HYROX Gym Means for You
From April onwards, you’ll see:
- HYROX-inspired conditioning in regular classes
- Optional HYROX-specific sessions for those who want them
- Clear progressions so you build fitness safely
- Coaching focused on pacing, movement efficiency, and confidence
You don’t need to be an athlete.
You don’t need to sign up for a race.
You just need to show up.
For Those Who Want to Go Further
If you do want a challenge, April is when we start supporting members who want to:
- Train toward HYROX Cardiff
- Take part in our HYROX simulations
- Learn how to fuel, pace, and recover properly
- Experience a full race environment in a supportive setting
You’ll never be pushed, only supported.

How the Year Works
Every month includes:
- A training focus or event to work toward
- A community or fun activity to keep things enjoyable
- Opportunities to review progress and reset goals
- Coaching development to ensure you get the best experience possible
Some months are traditionally harder for fitness. Some are naturally strong.
Instead of reacting, we’ve designed the year on purpose.
Q1: Build Momentum (January – March)
January: Start Strong
January is about habits, consistency, and setting the tone for the year.
- A habits-focused challenge to build strong foundations
- Podcast launch and improved communication
- Clear weekly tracking so we coach you better
This month is all about starting well, not burning out.
February: Community & Challenge
February is one of our biggest community months.
- Fit It Forward: a supportive bring-a-friend challenge
- The 24-Hour WOD (21st–22nd Feb) teamwork, fun, and shared suffering, community vibe
- Coaches check in and systems get sharpened behind the scenes
This is where friendships are built.
March: Celebrate Progress
March is competition season, but always inclusive.
- Intramural Open (teams, themes, laughs, effort)
- Optional VIP Open entry for those who want extra involvement
- Former members welcomed back to join the fun
- A big boost in gym energy and shared goals
This month is about doing hard things together.
Q2: Train With Purpose (April – June)
April: Review & Reset
April is a key reflection point.
- Goal reviews so your training stays aligned to your life
- Social events (including a skydive for the brave!)
- Profile and systems improvements so the gym runs smoothly
Progress isn’t accidental, we plan it.
May: HYROX Energy
HYROX season kicks off properly.
- HYROX-specific training options
- Deadly Dozen challenge (9th May)
- Workshops delivered in local businesses
- Coach career development (better coaching for you)
This is a high-energy, high-focus month.
June: Community Beyond the Gym
June is about connection.
- HYROX Cardiff
- Off-site seminars
- Fitness Retreat (26th–28th June), train, relax, reset
- Ongoing improvements to membership experience
Fitness is better when it connects to real life.
Q3: Fun, Flexibility & Re-Focus (July – September)
July: Summer Fun
- Habit challenge to stay consistent
- Boat race social
- Kids holiday activities
- Google & online presence improvements to grow the community
Summer doesn’t mean stopping, it means adapting.
August: Keep It Light
August is traditionally a time for people to spend more time out of the gym, so we don’t force it.
- Lower pressure
- Flexible training
- Optional activities
- Focus on enjoyment and recovery
Sometimes progress is about not quitting.
September: Big Reset
September is one of the strongest months of the year.
- Goal reviews
- Focused programming
- Female self-defence sessions
- Strong marketing to welcome new faces
This is where everything clicks again.
Q4: Finish Strong (October – December)
October: Energy & Events
- HYROX Birmingham
- Local business collaborations
- Habit reset before winter
- Systems and client journey improvements
Strong foundations going into winter matter.
November: Plan & Celebrate
- Halloween BBQ
- Shrewsbury Challenge
- Community focus before Christmas chaos
This is about gratitude and clarity.
December: Fun First
December is about ending the year feeling proud.
- Lifting competition (PBs, fun, confidence)
- HYROX simulations
- Christmas quiz, walks, and night out
- Low stress, high enjoyment
