From the Police Force to Global Coaching: My Journey. In 2003, fresh out of university, I joined the police force. My goal was simple: make a real impact. I even earned my Level 3 Gym instructor qualification specifically to coach local kids and give them a positive focus off the streets. Back then, I was an ultra-marathon runner. I ran long, grueling distances and did a bit of casual gym work, but nothing serious. Then, in 2007, a random Google search changed everything. I stumbled across CrossFit and decided to try a workout called ‘F50’. It completely broke me. Seeing others finish it in half my time was a massive wake-up call. I realized my endurance training lacked true power. I threw myself into CrossFit, achieved the highest fitness of my life, and in 2008, I opened CrossFit Shropshire. My passion for the methodology caught the attention of CrossFit HQ. By 2010, I was selected for the international CrossFit Endurance specialty coaching staff. For years, I traveled to London, Copenhagen, and Iceland, teaching global seminars and training the coaches who train everyone else. I hung up my ultra-running shoes after my last race in 2019, but my passion for movement hasn’t stopped. Today, you’ll find me training CrossFit, prepping for HYROX, or on the mats earning my stripes as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. Away from the box, I’m a family man, happily married to my wonderful wife Laura, and a proud dad to our two kids, Max and Maud. CrossFit Shropshire isn’t just a business for us; it’s our community, and I can’t wait to welcome you into it. I am also a Firefighter, I joined Shropshire Fire And Rescue in 2010. I am now a Crew Manager on White Watch Shrewsbury and we have an amazing team of coaches to cover me when I am on shift!
